Rogue to crawl into US theatres

[Thu 03/04/2008 04:46:31]

By Simon de Bruyn

After a year of delays, Greg McLean’s $25 million croc thriller Rogue is finally getting a US cinema run on April 25, through The Weinstein Company’s new Third Rail Releasing division.

McLean told Inside Film he was looking forward to hearing American reactions to the film, and said he was still excited about the release despite all the delays.
told he was looking forward to hearing American reactions to the film, and said he was still excited about the release despite all the delays.

“The producers and I are really excited about the upcoming US release of Rogue,” he said.

“Our distributors have been waiting to find a good spot in the crowded US market for the picture, causing a number of date shifts, however we hope it's received well there, and in its upcoming release's in Spain, France, UK and the rest of Europe .”

Rogue was released by Roadshow locally last November, and made $1.8 million at the box office. Third Rail was set up late last year to distribute the Weinstein Company’s “inventive and edgy vanguard films” and plans to release six to 10 movies a year.

Rogue comes out in Australia on DVD on May 29.
