ScreenWest REVs up for 2008 Festival

[Fri 27/06/2008 11:19:17]

ScreenWest is pleased to announce it will host two special events as part of the 11th Revelation Perth International Film Festival, this year being hosted in and around the Astor Cinema, Mt Lawley.

The first event is a Screen Culture Panel Discussion to look at the role screen culture plays in assisting local creative development. The Panel will be held at 12pm on Sunday, July 6 at the Velvet Lounge, Mt Lawley.

With ScreenWest currently reviewing its Screen Culture program, we are keen to take the opportunity during ‘Rev' to examine where this program should be taking us, what the WA industry sees as the state of play of screen culture, and explore the business, critical, practical and exhibition opportunities that conferences, films festivals and similar activities can provide.

Designed to engage the production and (screen) cultural sectors, this session is an open discussion platform to interrogate the relationships and the work to be done: towards structuring potent and viable, interlocking and inspired production and distribution, exhibition opportunities and networks, as well as feed into the critical health of the industry.

Join Courtney Gibson, Executive Head Content Creation at ABC TV, as she facilitates a session featuring representatives from local screen culture and production industry sectors to unearth how the vital relationship between the two.
