Tropfest award winner finds success with new short
[Mon 28/07/2008 05:03:57]
By Simon de Bruyn
The new short film from Tropfest Bright Spark winner Karl Madderom will play at the Caught Short Film Festival next week, before playing at the Portobello Film Festival in London and the Washougal International Film Festival in Portland, USA, both in August.
This follows a screening of the film at the Newtown Flicks Film Festival in May.
The short, Women and Children, is a story about Andy, a man in his early thirties who spends most of his time either in bars or going from one woman to the next.
Madderom has been busy since his short, Loveless, won the Bright Spark Award at Tropfest in February this year. He is currently editing another short and preparing to shoot his next Tropfest film.
Women and Children will be screened at the Caught Short Film Festival next Thursday August 7th at 7.30pm at the Tap Gallery in Darlinghurst, Sydney.
