Spirit of Woodford Video Award call for entries
The Spirit of Woodford Awards invites you to create a documentary or fiction, on video, film, or audio tape, which captures the spirit of the Woodford Folk Festival or of any similar arts, music, or community festival event in Australia.

The Spirit of Woodford Awards invites you to create a documentary or fiction, on video, film, or audio tape, which captures the spirit of the Woodford Folk Festival or of any similar arts, music, or community festival event in Australia.
Entries should focus on a character or group who participate in a festival and who offer us inspiration to make this planet a better place for us all to share. Possible subjects include musicians, artists, poets, comedians, speakers, street performers, choirs and volunteers.
The entered work should be between 5 and 26 minutes submitted on mini DV, DVD, VHS or CD if audio entry. We will also accept retrospective works till 2008/9..
At least a third of the finished work is to be shot/recorded at the Woodford Folk Festival or at another Australian cultural festival of your choosing.
Please note: You will need prior permission from the festival organisers to film, video, or record at the (Woodford or other) festival. You also need permission from the subjects (people who will be featured in your work).For entrants wishing to record at this year’s Woodford Folk Festival: fill in the attached entry form and send it to the address below before December with the written permission from the cast or subjects of your work. We are happy to help you contact performers/people of your choice by email. Permission to video/film/record, will be at the discretion of the Awards Directors and does not necessarily entitle entrants to a free ticket to the Woodford Folk Festival.
For entrants recording at other festivals:
You will need to obtain written permission yourself, from the festival organisers
and from your subjects. Please keep these permission documents; you will need
them later to accompany your entry.
Completed entries should arrive by 15 September 2008, for pre-selection of finalists. (time extension is possible on request). The selected finalists will be screened and broadcasted at the Woodford Folk Festival, as part of the Spirit of Woodford Awards, & the audience will have two votes for winner. The winner will be presented with $5,000 at the Festival.
