Emmy-award winning actor joins cast of The Ninja

Film Source is pleased to announce the signing of two time Emmy Award winner American actor, John Wesley Shipp to the cast for the upcoming feature film The Ninja.
John joins an impressive list of actors who have committed to the production, including local Aussie star Tania Zaetta. The Ninja tells the tale of Rob Reeve (Rob Baard) and Jenn Summers (Tania Zaetta) who go head to head against a corrupt corporate company CEO and group of deadly ninja assassins in an action sequences filled with explosions, fight scenes, plot turns and special effects.
Born in Virginia, USA, John is best known for his roles as, Mitch Leery in popular television series “Dawson’s Creek” from 1998 to 2001 and embodied the role of comic book superhero “The Flash” in the television series screened in 1990.
His two daytime Emmy Awards were for his soap work – the first for “As the World Turns” (1956) and also “Santa Barbara” (1984).
Commenting on the latest star to join the production, Rob Baard says “We are very fortunate to have an actor with John’s calibre join our cast. His acting and experience in film production will be a invaluable resource to us and the film and his advice will be a welcome perspective to the overall production.”
The 52 year old will be playing a leading role in one of the film’s central characters, Detective Matthew Reynolds, who the films narrative revolves around. Detective Reynolds is involved in the investigation into the unfolding events that play out in the screenplay. He is caught between corrupt police officers and corporate officials and believes that there is more going on than meets the eye with the investigation and is hell bent on uncovering the truth.
To be filmed in Victoria with an estimated budget of $6 million, The Ninja will be an action genre thriller targeted at the core demographic of male 13 – 35+ years old.
