The hot button issue concerning young people in NSW right now is the role of drugs and alcohol in society
In response to these concerns the PNAN Youth Arts Festival is on the lookout for the hottest young and emerging talent (aged 16-25 in NSW) across the fields of short film, graphic design and creative writing. Entrants are invited to submit entries highlighting and expressing their opinions on the role drugs and alcohol play in society PLUS there is over $15,000 in CASH and PRIZES to be won!
PNAN (formerly Play Now Act Now) Youth Arts Festival uses the creative mediums to
have a constructive and open discussion about the place of drugs and alcohol in young
peoples lives. We're not for, against or coming from any opinion or point of view- rather
we act as a focus point for different opinions, stories and experiences to be heard and
expressed - whilst at the same time promoting creative arts as a means of both social
change and as community building.
To tap into this vibrant demographic, PNAN has established a wide range of portals
across the internet and social networking sites as well as a planned regional tour taking
in Byron Bay, Lismore, Tamworth, Armidale, Albury, Wagga Wagga, Orange, Dubbo,
Bathurst and greater Sydney in March and April.
Deadline for the receipt of entry forms and films is: 5pm July 31, 2009.
