Tribeca to premiere Accidents Happen

The new feature film from director Andrew Lancaster and producer Anthony Anderson, Accidents Happen, will have its world premiere in the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival, where it will screen in competition.
In addition, at least three Australian documentaries have been selected to play the festival, with Cathy Henkel’s climate change doco The Burning Season also screening in competition.
This is second time in competition at Tribeca for director Henkel; she won the coveted award for Best Documentary with her very personal film, The Man Who Stole My Mother’s Face, in 2004.
The other two documentaries selected to screen are Eric Bana’s directorial debut Love the Beast, and the Skin component of the Anatomy doco triptych produced by Big and Little Films.
Stephan Elliot’s new film Easy Virtue will screen as part of the Spotlight programme, alongside Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience and Sundance hit Moon.
The Tribeca Film Festival was founded in 2002 by Jane Rosenthal and Robert De Niro in a response to the September 11 2001 terrorist attacks in New York and the consequent loss of vitality in the TriBeCa neighborhood in Manhattan.
The 2009 festival will run from April 22 to May 3.
