Treole and Dabner join Screen Aus

[Wed 20/01/2010 02:59:13]

By Brendan Swift

Screen Australia has appointed Victoria Treole and Matthew Dabner as industry specialists in the agency's production investment department.

The two key roles will see them assess applications for feature film production funding. They replace Scott Meek and Tristram Miall, who finished their tenure at Christmas.

Meek, who is also an executive producer on upcoming feature Griff the Invisible, will continue to work for Screen Australia as a feature film consultant. Miall has his own feature film project, WWII tale Bugle Boy, in development.

Dabner, who has previously worked as a US development executive, wrote The Square and produced Cedar Boys. Both films were critically well received but performed below expectations at the local box office. He has most recently been a development and production investment executive at Screen NSW.

Treole was previously director international market development and executive creative affairs for the Australian Film Commission and helped establish Miramax Films in Australia.

Screen Australia chief executive Ruth Harley said Treole brings extensive experience in marketing, development and financing to the role which complements Dabner's track record as a producer, script writer and developer. "I welcome them both to the team,” Harley said in a statement.
