Odin's Eye acquires Jucy

[Tue 09/03/2010 11:50:34]

Press release from KCDC Pty Ltd

KCDC & BUNKER PRODUCTIONS FEATURE JUCY PICKED UP BY ODIN’S EYE

Chick buddy flick Jucy has been picked up by Odin’s Eye Entertainment for worldwide representation. Jucy is a wo-mantic comedy that takes its audience on a rollercoaster ride through twenty-something friendship, the ever-present pressure to be normal and the consequences of being yourself.

Jackie and Lucy are close friends, some say too close. Although their high school days are long behind them, nothing much has changed. Jackie’s social anxiety is still not under control and she remains incapable of a mature relationship with a man. Lucy is overweight, still lives with her mother and hasn’t finished either of the university degrees she started. When their friendship is attacked, the girls set out to prove themselves… but will their newly found maturity drive them apart?

Following All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane, Jucy is the second instalment in director Louise Alston’s trilogy of quarter-life crisis films. It features Brisbane actors Francesca Gasteen and Cindy Nelson and is based in part on their real life friendship. The film was financed by Screen Queensland and private investment and will be released later this year. See www.jucythemovie.com

"We are thrilled to be working with Odin's Eye," says the film’s producer Kelly Chapman, "They're a switched on company with a knack for innovative marketing and distribution and they really get our movie”.

Chapman’s recent experience includes producing online spin-offs for Lost and Spooks at Hoodlum Entertainment. Alston’s first feature All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane won the Audience Award at Natfilm Festival in Denmark and London Australian festival in the UK. Odin’s Eye’s previous Australian acquisitions include Three Blind Mice, Bitter & Twisted and Crush.
