Richardson wins ACS award

Robert Richardson ASC has won the 2010 Australian Cinematographers Society International Cinematographer of the Year Award for his work on Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds.

Richardson was nominated for an Oscar for his work on the film, which was shot on KODAK VISION2 200T 5217 film and KODAK VISION3 500T 5219 film.

He has previously won Oscars for his work on JFK and The Aviator, and has also been nominated for Platoon, Born on the Fourth of July and Snow Falling on Cedars.

Richardson's other credits include Nixon, Casino, Kill Bill: Vol 1 and Vol 2, U Turn, Natural Born Killers, Wall Street and, more recently, Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island.

The ACS International Award for Cinematography is open to any feature film cinematographer, of any nationality, working on the international stage.

Previous recipients have been Dion Beebe ACS ASC, Roger Deakins BSC ASC, Emmanuel Lubezki AMC ASC and Anthony Dod Mantle BSC DFF.

The International Award for Cinematography will be presented at the ACS National Awards for Cinematography in Melbourne on May 1.
