Road Train premiere set for Dungog

[Fri 16/04/2010 09:27:56]

By Brendan Swift

Supernatural thriller Road Train will hold its Australian premiere at the Dungog Film Festival next month.

It follows international screenings at the Berlin International Film Festival in February and the London Australian Film Festival in March.

The $2.1 million genre film stars stars Sophie Lowe (Beautiful Kate) and Xavier Samuel (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and marks the feature debut of director Dean Francis. Francis will also present the film at Dungog while Sophie Lowe will perform her original title song.

The film - about four young friends on a camping adventure in outback Australia who are run off the road by a massive three-trailer truck - is also set to be distributed in more than 3500 Blockbuster stores in the US after a recent deal struck by sales agent Lightning Entertainment.

The Dungog Film Festival will be held between May 27 to May 30. The full program will be announced on April 23.
