Ryan Bingham is a downsizing consultant who has spent his entire life in airport hotels, collecting air miles and browsing the departure lounge retail options as he waits for his next flight across America. It is a life that has left him detached from the rest of the world, at least detached from the relationships which normal people have but it is a life of his choosing and a life he enjoys living.
