Gil Scrine Films wins SFF awards

Press release from Gil Scrine Films
In the Audience Awards at the 2010 Sydney Film Festival distributor Gil Scrine’s nose for quality documentary films has again proven to be right on the money.
Taking out the accolade for Best Documentary at the State Theatre is Judith Erlich’s political-drama The Most Dangerous Man in America – Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon papers. Also in the top five from Scrine’s slate were the biography of tortured piano master Glenn Gould; Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould and This Way of Life, which examines a family’s pursuit of a unique lifestyle.
The Sydney Film Festival had record attendances this year with audiences clearly hungry for films that resonate with meaning.
Year on year Gil Scrine is able to attract, and find an audience for, thought provoking documentaries and feature films. Last year two of his films The Cove and The Burning Season won audience awards at the Sydney Film Festival.
The Most Dangerous Man in America – Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon paper is screening at The Chauvel in Sydney from June 24 and will be reviewed on At the Movies with Margaret and David on June 24.
Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould and This Way of Life will both be released nationally later this year and will be available on DVD by Antidote Films, the home entertainment division of Gil Scrine Films.
