Tim Ferguson Comedy Writing Forums

In a startling expose on how to write comedy the secrets of the comedian will be revealed. What makes us laugh? What are the principles behind a good joke and narrative comedy? And what is it we find so goddamn attractive about those who make us laugh?

WHEN:  14/08/2010 to 04/09/2010

WHERE:  See details below

STATE:  National

COUNTRY:  AUS

Tim Ferguson offers the answers to these age old questions and shows you how to write comedy — simply and effectively —much to the dismay of the
comedy industry.

TIM FERGUSON has had over 25 years experience in writing TV comedy and sitcoms. As a member of the Doug Anthony Allstars (DAAS) he toured internationally for over a decade—the group was the biggest-selling act at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival for nine years running.

He co-produced, wrote and directed the comedy/drama series Shock Jock and was host and writer of the Logie Award-winning Don’t Forget Your Toothbrush. He has appeared on numerous TV programs including: ABC TV’s The Glasshouse and The Einstein Factor and in 2003 was the host of Big Brother Insider.

Tim is the author of the bestselling political satire, Left, Right & Centre and has been a contributor of opinion pieces and features for The Age and Sydney Morning Herald.

Tim currently lectures in Narrative Comedy and Screenwriting at RMIT School of Media & Communication and hosts forums and workshops on comedy writing
nationally.
