BOY trailer

[Wed 25/08/2010 10:47:35]

BOY, written, directed and starring Taika Waititi is a hilarious and heartfelt coming-of-age story. Set on the rural East Coast during the '80s at the height of Michael Jackson and E.T. fever, BOY tells the tale of Boy, Rocky and their inept wannabe gangster father Alamein. It’s inspired by Waititi’s Oscar-nominated Two Cars, One Night and his own childhood in Waihau Bay.

BOY, which just won the audience award at this year's Melbourne International Film Festival, is the number one Kiwi movie of all time, taking just eight weeks to pass The World's Fastest Indian's record of more than $7 million, when it opened in its home country back in late-March.

The movie opens Down Under this week (Thursday, August 26).
