Sony Pictures Home Entertainment (SPHE) is proud to recognise three of its distributed contemporary TV titles among the winners at the 2010 Primetime Emmy® Awards. Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Nurse Jackie won a total of five awards at the ceremony held in Los Angeles yesterday including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series respectively.
This is the highest number of awards by a local distributor announced in the Primetime Emmy Awards.
Once again breaking records, acclaimed Lionsgate and AMC drama Mad Men won Outstanding Drama Series for the third year in a row. Matthew Weiner and Erin Levy also won Outstanding Writing for a Drama series, demonstrating the fact that we’ve all gone mad for the pensive characters in the show.
On the acting front, Lionsgate’s Nurse Jackie saw Edie Falco win Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Sony Pictures Television‘s Breaking Bad was commended on two fronts with Bryan Cranston winning Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the second year in a row, and his co-star Aaron Paul winning Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
The Academy of Arts and Science awarded the following Emmy Awards to SPHE distributed titles as follows:
Mad Men: Outstanding Drama Series; Outstanding Writing for Drama Series Breaking Bad: Outstanding Lead Actor In A Drama Series, Bryan Cranston; Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, Aaron Paul Nurse Jackie: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, Edie Falco
