Omnilab Media acquires Vio Worldwide

[Wed 15/09/2010 09:52:50]

By Brendan Swift

Omnilab Media’s cross media asset management company, Dubsat, has acquired London-based Vio Worldwide.

It continues the Australian media company's international growth strategy after last month striking a new partnership with logistics specialist IMD to distribute radio ads, TV commercials and music videos in the UK.

"Vio Worldwide extends our footprint in the USA and Europe and is an important part of our global expansion strategy," Omnilab Media's managing director Christopher Mapp said in a statement.

"We will also support this strategy by further investment in innovative technologies and services for the entertainment and advertising markets."

The acquisition price and terms of the deal were not disclosed. The two companies have worked together for the past two years with Vio Worldwide’s online AdSEND service underpinned by Dubsat's Websend technology.

Agencies in the USA and Europe use AdSEND to manage and deliver display advertising across an estimated 6500 newspapers and magazines, and TrackSend to deliver digital assets throughout the advertising, publishing and commercial printing supply chain.

Dubsat chief executive Grant Schuetrumpf said the acquisition is aimed at providing "ad agencies with full campaign management, booking, accessibility, repurposing, and managed delivery of content, and give publishers and broadcasters visibility and accessibility across all media type and format.”

Vio managing director Chris Friend said becoming part of Dubsat will allow the company to boost its cross-media application capabilities and offer advertising agencies and publishers a broader platform of services.

Omnilab now owns 17 media companies and generates annual revenue of more than $100 million. Its production arm, Ambience Entertainment, recently produced action thriller Tomorrow, When the War Began, which has already grossed more than $7 million at the Australian box office in two weeks.
