Fox picks up 3D feature Walking With Dinosaurs

[Thu 11/11/2010 03:53:27]

By Sam Dallas

Twentieth Century Fox has acquired Australian distribution rights for live-action 3D feature Walking With Dinosaurs.

Walking With Dinosaurs, penned by Scottish born/Sydney-based John Collee (Happy Feet), is based on the six-part BBC TV series which debuted 11 years ago.

The deal, negotiated between Fox and sales and financing company IM Global, was announced by Fox production president Emma Watts, BBC Worldwide managing mirector Marcus Arthur and IM Global CEO Stuart Ford.

The film, set to be released in 2013, will use live-action footage of scenery and CGI creatures to create an "intimate and engaging" 3D adventure.

Check out the November issue of INSIDEFILM for an in-depth interview with Collee.
