Heathcote wins US role

Beneath Hill 60 star Bella Heathcote has been cast as the female lead in David Chase's rock 'n' roll drama Twylight Zones, which will begin filming next month.

The Paramount film is set in the 1960s and involves three friends in high school who form a band inspired by the music of the time - The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.

Written and directed by Chase, who is best known for his work on TV series The Sopranos, it will also star John Magaro, Will Brill, and Jack Huston.

Meanwhile, Heathcote is also attached to two other projects: the lead in Universal's Snow White & The Huntsman and a supporting role in Cogan’s Trade. It is being adapted for the screen by Andrew Dominik (Chopper), with Brad Pitt also attached to the production, which is due to be filmed in 2011.

She is currently shooting Now (formerly titled I'm Mortal) alongside Justin Timberlake, Amanda Seyfried, Cillian Murphy, Alex Pettyfer, and Olivia Wilde.

Heathcote won the Heath Ledger Scholarship Fund for her performance in the Australian war epic Beneath Hill 60 in May 2010. The award gives a young Australian actors the opportunity to travel to the United States to further their training and international acting opportunities.

She recently signed with manager Brian Medavoy of Jackson/Medavoy, WME and with lawyer Jason Sloane while retaining her agent Joanna Milosz at JM Agency in Australia.
