Crime thriller Animal Kingdom, by former IF magazine editor David Michôd, went on to be a big hit at the local box office, making $4.94 million.
Set in Melbourne’s underworld, the film features screen veteran Jacki Weaver, who is up for an Academy Award (Best Supporting Actress) later this month.
In this clip, Weaver - who plays Janine Cody, the matriarchal head of a Melbourne crime family - discusses how she approached the role and her experience in making the film.
