The King's Speech in the top 100 highest-grossing films in Oz list

Promising Oscar contender The King's Speech is now in the record books Down Under.
The $14 million drama, which opened on December 26 last year, is now one of the top 100 highest-grossing films in Australia, passing $20.6 million.
This now ranks it higher than Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire ($20,296,586), Ron Howard's A Beautiful Mind ($19,792,193), Kevin Costner's Dances With Wolves ($19,704,035) and the classic Sam Mendes film American Beauty ($19,097,497).
The film has made $US83.5 million at the US Box Office after being released a month earlier, on November 26, according to Box Office Mojo.
Having links with Australia through producer Emile Sherman, the UK See-Saw Films production about King George VI (Colin Firth) who seeks the help of unconventional speech therapist Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush) is considered to be a favourite for Best Picture (alongside The Social Network) - and has been nominated in 11 other categories - at this year's Acadmey Awards, to be held on February 27.
