[Mon 02/05/2011 11:15:27]

By Milana Vulovic

The Today Show’s Karl Stefanovic took home the Gold Logie and the Silver Logie for Most Popular Presenter at the 53rd TV WEEK Logie Awards last night, while shows including Packed to the Rafters and MasterChef also took major awards.

Channel Seven’s Packed To The Rafters won the statue for Most Popular Drama Series and its star Hugh Sheridan walked away with the Most Popular Actor award.

Presenting the award for Most Popular Reality Program, The Chaser boys’ ironic quips about the rating-busting powerhouse that is Network Ten’s MasterChef were confirmed as the show pulled the award for the second year in a row.

For his starring role in Underbelly: The Golden Mile, Firass Dirani scored Most Popular New Male Talent while the popular show also won a Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Drama Series.

A delighted Chrissie Swan received a statue for Most Popular New Female Talent and joined the rest of the glittering cast of Network Ten chat show The Circle to accept the Most Popular Light Entertainment Program award.

Network Ten's Bondi Rescue, produced by Cordell Jigsaw, won Most Popular Factual Program.

Meanwhile, Richard Roxburgh was voted most outstanding actor for ABC series Rake, and Claire van der Boom was voted Most Outstanding Actress for ABC telemovie Sisters of War.
