The Eye of the Storm trailer
[Fri 17/06/2011 11:14:48]
Fred Schepisi's adaptation of Patrick White's acclaimed novel The Eye of the Storm stars Geoffrey Rush and Judy Davis. The film is Schepisi's first Australian film in more than a decade.
The film is set in Sydney's Centennial Park, where two nurses, a housekeeper and a solicitor attend to Elizabeth Hunter (Charlotte Rampling), as her expatriate son (Geoffrey Rush) and daughter (Judy Davis) convene at her deathbed.
But, in dying, as in living, Mrs Hunter remains a powerful force on those who surround her. The novel was awarded Australia’s only ever Noble Prize for literature in 1973.
Transmission Films is distributing The Eye of the Storm in Australia on September 15.
