Screen Queensland appoints Nick Hopkin as Project Manager

[Mon 11/07/2011 10:51:20]

By Amanda Diaz

Screen Queensland has appointed BAFTA-winning TV producer Nick Hopkin as new Project Manager of Production and Investment.

Since starting as a trainee at the BBC in 1987, Hopkin has worked in various roles including director, producer and development consultant.

His children's programmes, including the stop-motion animated series OOglies, Hedz and Serious Arctic have received a number of accolades including  two wins and two nominations for  Best Children's Entertainment Programme at the BAFTAs.

Last year, Hopkin acted as a development consultant and  faciliator around Australia for ABC3's "Creative Thinking and Pitching Formats" workshops.

“These days international appeal has become one of the main priorities and I’ve found that often a simple twist on a format will allow that to be possible without compromising the original idea and target audience,” he said in a statement.

Hopkin will begin work from August 8 and replaces Patrick McDonald.
