WA's FTI appoints new CEO, begins review, WA Screen Awards on hold

Western Australia’s Film & Television Institute (FTI) has appointed Paul Bodlovich as its new chief executive officer.
Bodlovich, who previously headed the WA Music Industry Association, will begin the new role from February 2012. He previously worked for the FTI as finance manager in the late-90s.
“I am excited to join FTI at such an important time in the organisation’s development and look forward to working with the team to take FTI to the next level,” Bodlovich said in a statement.
He replaces Graeme Sward who was with the not-for-profit FTI for more than a decade. The organisation provides screen content professionals with education, exhibition, equipment and production support.
The organisation, which is celebrating its 40th year, is now undertaking an organisational review, which will include a period of industry consultation. The 25th WA Screen Awards have been placed on hold until the review is completed.
The FTI’s operations are largely dependent on funding from Screen Australia and ScreenWest - the institute signed a triennial funding agreement with both organisations last year, which will fund it until the end of 2012.
