15 Seconds: Adam Zwar

[Fri 29/06/2012 03:16:18]

Adam Zwar rose to fame after co-creating cult series Wilfred. The multi-award winning actor and writer has since launched Lowdown, twentysomething and Agony Uncles. Series two of Lowdown can be seen on the ABC later this year and series two of the US version of Wilfred will screen on ELEVEN in July.

The biggest issue facing the Australian film or TV industry is: Earnestness.

Best movie quote of all time: Uncle Monty in Withnail and I: I’m preparing myself to forgive you.

Do you Google yourself? Of course – who’d Google me if I didn’t?

If you could live inside one of your shows, would you? Which one? Lowdown. Alex Burchill has no responsibilities whatsoever.

Classics I would like to remake: Hannah And Her Sisters.

Favourite comedy film/show of all time: The Larry Sanders Show.

Favourite comedian? A tie between Jerry Seinfeld, Garry Shandling, Larry David and Ricky Gervais.

Favourite guilty pleasure: Dreaming.

Worst filmmaking experience? My first short film. Continuity was a problem: cigarettes went from short to long in a blink of an eye, peoples’ sleeves rolled and unrolled just as quickly and someone grew a moustache while walking from one room to another.

Unsung Australian film/TV hero/heroine: Six months ago, I would have said Josh Lawson. But he’s recently been sung.

If I weren’t in the film/TV industry, I’d be… Writing a column in a tabloid newspaper with a very angry looking photo byline.

If money were no object, what would your next film/show be? Troy Miller ate my Hamster. It’s the feature I’m writing at the moment.

If a film about your life was made, who would play you? Don Cheadle, but he’d need to work on the accent.

I’d spend my last $20 on: A ticket to see Jesus Christ Superstar at the Astor. And a Choc-Top.
