The Peninsula Short Film Festival is now calling for entries and invites filmmakers of any level to submit an eight minute film by the closing date of Friday October 5, 2012.
Festival Director, Australian Actor Steve Bastoni, says we are encouraging everyone to get involved. “All people need is creativity, good ideas and a camera.” There are no restrictions on theme or genre however all films must adhere to a PG rating.
A first prize of $5000 is on offer as well as prizes of $2500 for second, and $1250 for third.
The Festival offers not only an opportunity for filmmakers to receive industry acknowledgment but provides a credible platform to launch a filmmaking career.
Last year’s venue was at capacity within 20 minutes of the doors opening and this year is going to be bigger and better. The Festival will be held on the Village Green in Rosebud on Saturday November 10th on the Rosebud Foreshore.
Shortlisted films will be judged on the night by a panel of celebrity actors and industry professionals including Lachy Hulme, Firass Dirani and Jane Hall.
The Festival will kick off at 5pm with live music performances, including a set by rock legend James Reyne. Films will be screened from sunset onwards.
The Festival is FREE to attendees, so bring a rug and prepare to be entertained.
The 10 finalists will be announced late October and winners will be judged and announced on the night, Saturday November 10th.
There is a $30 entry fee and entries are accepted from Australia and overseas.
Entrants must note that films cannot contain any offensive, racist or pornographic material.
