The Hive Lab - Call For Entries

The Adelaide Film Festival, Screen Australia, South Australian Film Corporation, ABC TV and the Australia Council for the Arts are calling for ideas and participants for the second HIVE lab.

ENTRY DEADLINE:  13/08/2012

WHEN:  11/10/2012 to 14/10/2012

WHERE:  TBC

STATE:  VIC

COUNTRY:  AUS

The 2012 HIVE Lab is seeking applications from individual Australian artists and filmmakers who are established in their creative practice and have an early stage film based project they wish to explore in the context of this Lab. Participation is free and travel and accommodation will be provided for interstate participants. Deadline for entries is Monday 13 August.

Held from 11 – 14 October within the 2012 Melbourne Festival, the HIVE Lab will bring talented filmmakers and artists together for four days to nurture screen-based creative ideas that cut across artistic boundaries. The HIVE Lab introduces filmmakers to ideas and potential collaborators from other art forms, and inspires artists, writers, choreographers, theatre practitioners and musicians to consider film as a creative outlet. The HIVE Lab will use skilled mentors to bring participants together.

HIVE Lab 2011 participants included Meryl Tankard, Michael Kantor, Richard Tognetti, Lynette Wallworth, Gideon Obarzanek, Kate Champion, Glendyn Ivin, Tony Krawitz and Amiel Courtin-Wilson. Three bold and original art film projects that emerged received subsequent funding, and will premiere at the 2013 Adelaide Film Festival and screen on ABC TV
