IFSS students enjoy TV series success with IFSS Uncut

[Thu 19/07/2012 11:28:18]

Press release from IFSS

Australian film students have produced a television series, hosted by actress Georgina Haig (The Sapphires, Underbelly), that will take you on a journey through the world of short filmmaking in IFSS Uncut on FOXTEL’s Aurora Community Channel from 8pm Sunday, 22 July.

International Film School Sydney (IFSS) students and graduates produced the four episode series to educate viewers about the creative process involved in making a great short film, from script to screen, to inspire budding filmmakers.

Each episode features vignettes and interviews with industry luminaries providing insight and answers to many of the questions novices are too hesitant to ask.

IFSS Uncut is directed by IFSS graduate Kim Ramsay who has since established her own directing company, Delphic Insight.

“If someone is inspired to make a film there are no excuses anymore - everyone these days has an iPhone or a DSLR camera. This series will arm the viewer with the knowledge to make short films while igniting their passion to get out there and do it!” Ms Ramsay said.

IFSS teachers, Producer Andrew Williams and Co-producer Guy Perrine, together with broadcaster Aurora Community Channel, birthed the idea for IFSS Uncut while discussing the importance of showing Australian short films on Australian television.

“We have tried to include everything you would need to know when setting out to make a film; a kind of hitchhikers guide to the filmic universe,” Mr Williams said.

IFSS Uncut premieres on Aurora Channel 183 on FOXTEL this 8pm Sunday 22 July

(For those that do not have FOXTEL the first episode can be viewed at ifss.edu.au from Tuesday 24 July)
