Sydney Film School Scholarship call for entries

Sydney Film School is offering one secondary school student a scholarship worth $23 000 to complete the one-year Diploma of Screen and Media course.

ENTRY DEADLINE:  14/09/2012

WHERE:  Sydney Film School, Redfern

STATE:  National

COUNTRY:  AUS

Sydney Film School's annual Robin Anderson Scholarship is open to all senior secondary school (Yr 11-12) students from across Australia and New Zealand. The scholarship, worth $23 000, covers the complete cost of completing a one-year Diploma of Screen and Media. Sydney Film School teaches the theoretical and creative processes of filmmaking and students gain extensive hands-on film production experience that reflects industry practice. It is the only film school in Australia which teaches a ‘complete production pathway' that uses and teaches both 16mm film and digital technologies. The Sydney Film School alumni includes Academy Award winner and Industry Patron of Sydney Film School Emile Sherman (The King's Speech) and feature filmmaker and School Director Ben Ferris (Penelope). To be in the running for the scholarship students must submit a short documentary or drama (max 8min), produced in 2012, to the Robin Anderson Film Awards. The shortlisted filmmakers will then be invited to an interview with Sydney Film School staff and the winner will be announced at the gala Robin Anderson Awards Night in November. Deadline for submission is Friday 14th September. For more details visit sydneyfilmschool.com/school/scholarships/local.aspx
