Deluxe Australia will buy Omnilab Media's creative and media services businesses, including Iloura, Digital Pictures, Cornerpost, Flagstaff, Boffswana and PAX Entertainment.
The acquisition continues Deluxe's expansion in the visual effects and post-production sector in recent years and represents a significant downsizing for Omnilab. Deluxe said the acquisition will also bolster its life-cycle library management, digital asset management, file-based mastering, archiving, DVD and Blu-ray authoring services.
“As technologies continue to transform how our movie, TV and advertising customers create and distribute content, Deluxe is well positioned for whatever the future may bring,” Deluxe Australia managing director Alaric McAusland said in a statement. “We are greatly looking forward to this talented group of people joining our terrific Deluxe team."
Omnilab Media will retain Ambience Entertainment, The Playroom, DubSat, Adsend, Substation and Oktobor Animation which will continue to operate separately from those businesses being acquired by Deluxe.
"We are very pleased that we have come to an agreement with Deluxe Australia that will see these great iconic businesses continue to flourish, and we look forward to our continuing relationship with Deluxe ," Omnilab Media managing director Christopher Mapp said in a statement. "We are very proud of our long legacy to the Australian film, television and advertising industries and look forward to an exciting future."
