[Mon 27/08/2012 10:14:01]

Press Release from Libby Mettam

CinéfestOZ has exceeded expectations with over 10,000 attendances, 62 sessions, and 29 films over the 5 days of the West Australian Premier Boutique Film Festival.

30 Film Industry Guests, including international celebrities Bryan Brown, David Wenham, Rachel Ward and Emma Booth attended, along with 20 other Actors, Directors and Producers.

CinéfestOZ Gala Night wrapped up the festivities in celebrity-style last night with Bryan Brown accepting his award as Screen Legend and David Wenham taking on his new role as Festival Patron.

Gala Night was another sell out event marking the end of the Festival’s social calendar. Wenham says he has witnessed the event grow enormously even since last year in size and atmosphere and he expects it to become one of Australia’s Premiere boutique film festivals. According to Bryan Brown the festival has been a fantastic event and he has enjoyed the Margaret River region and its attractions.

Minister for Culture and the Arts, Hon John Day MLA says CinéfestOZ was a valuable event not only for the film industry, but also the region in general.
