[Fri 05/10/2012 01:52:04]

Press Release from Kabuku Public Relations

The 2012 Bondi Short Film Festival has launched its call to all Australian filmmakers to enter their short film and be a part of its 12th anniversary year.
Filmmakers can visit the new Bondi Short Film Festival website www.bondishortfilmfestival.com to download entry forms and details. From stunning animations to powerful dramas, cutting edge documentaries and quirky comedies, it is little wonder that the Bondi Short Film Festival has reached cult status amongst indie filmmakers.

Prizes include a return flight to North America courtesy of Showtime Movie Channels, Spectrum Films’ editing package valued at $3,000; WeWood ecofriendly watches and all wooden “Proof” Sunglass package valued at over $500 with more to be announced.

The Festival has firmly established itself on the calendar of local up-and coming-filmmakers. Added to great prizes, the Festival provides filmmakers with the opportunity to showcase their film to a sell-out crowd – including a judging panel of heavy hitters from the Australian film industry like. Previous judges have included Bruce Beresford, Margaret Pomeranz, Sam Worthington and Brendan Cowell to name a few.

“The Bondi Short Film Festival is 100% Australian content. We are also completely independent. And so 12 years on, having attracted over 3,000 quality entries and counting – Twelve years is not only a great milestone for the Festival, but it also clearly shows the growing public support, for local films and the short film medium.” says Founder and Festival Director, Francis Coady.
