Lotterywest Festival Films brings the very best and most talked about contemporary cinema from all corners of the globe to Perth, showcasing the enduring magic of film throughout the summer months on the iconic outdoor screens at Somerville and Joondalup Pines. The season is comprised of 25 Western Australian premieres, including four Australian premieres and six films submitted by their countries as official competitors for the Best Foreign Film Oscar. The Lotterywest Festival Films kick off with the worldwide audience hit Searching For Sugar Man, an uplifting documentary about one of the greatest musicians you've never heard – Rodriguez. Also included in the film program is the Australian premiere of Satellite Boy, a Western Australian film set in the Kimberley, and starring David Gulpilil, about a boy on a quest to save his home. Audiences will once again have the chance to vote for a standout Festival film online or at the venues and join in on the passionate debate with the Golden Deckchair Audience Award.
