The Sapphires wins third US Audience Award, chosen to close Dubai Film Festival

The Sapphires continues to enjoy international success after winning its third US film Festival Audience Award.
The film’s latest triumph came when it was voted Audience Choice Award for Best Narrative Feature at the St. Louis International Film Festival.
It has also recently won audience favourite at Aspen and Denver Film Festivals and was nominated for a Gold Hugo for Best Feature Film at the Chicago International Film Festival.
The Sapphires has been selected for several upcoming US film festivals, including the Bahamas, Santa Fe and Portland, and has also been chosen to close the Dubai International Film Festival.
Director Wayne Blair and actors Jessica Mauboy and Shari Sebbens will be there to represent the film in Dubai, with Mauboy set perform to international audience following the screening.
The Weinstein Company will release The Sapphires theatrically in the US in 2013.
