Pitch Perfect sings at box office but Skyfall still dominates

Skyfall continues to dominate at the box office, raking in $4 656 712 over the weekend, with a total box office taking of $32 229 512 since its release three weeks ago.

Musical comedy Pitch Perfect, starring Australia’s own funny girl Rebel Wilson and distributed by Universal, pulled in $2 597 659 on its second weekend and was played on 290 screens.

Skyfall continues to hold onto an impressive screen count, appearing on 574 screens across the nation.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 continues to perform well despite having been out for a month. Over the weekend the final instalment to the popular saga brought in $1 128 494 and was played across 368 screens. Its Australian box office taking to date is $26 161 940.

The Man with the Iron Fists, starring Russell Crowe, suffered a disappointing opening weekend, taking in only $157 374.
