At ISA, the studio is your classroom

Specialised courses in Animation, Film, and Screen Acting at the International Screen Academy (ISA) provide students with the skills for careers in the screen and media industries of the future. The full-time Advanced Diploma courses have been designed from the start as being fully integrated across the three streams.

ISA’s purpose-built contemporary environment offers a range of industry standard sound and production studios equipped for high-end VFX and green screen work, animation and post-production facilities, screening rooms, performance spaces, and flexible learning areas.

‘The curriculum is based on extensive research and consultation across the professions, to address the future needs of industry: different modes of work and employment, different platforms for making and telling stories, different ways of connecting with audiences,’ says Barclay.

ISA film students study the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media and are thoroughly trained in the creative and business areas of the industry.

Students are prepared for a career as independent filmmakers who can work on small and large projects, across cinema, longform or factual television, transmedia, games and web series.

‘ISA is serious about graduates building sustainable careers as creative artists'

ISA’s Advanced Diploma of Acting for Contemporary Screen Media is unique in Australia. It is tailored entirely towards screen acting and includes not only multiple dramatic acting techniques, but also skills for narration, animation voicework, on-camera presentation, and film production. Students make their own films, establish relationships with agents and work on building their own personal brand.

Animation students also study the Advanced Diploma of Screen and Media, and are trained in the creative and technical requirements of the animation and VFX industries. Students learn to work in collaborative creative teams based on industry-standard production workflows. Every aspect of the course is aimed at creating a stand-out portfolio of work designed to impress industry recruiters.
