Dubsat launches simplified HD TVC delivery service

Press Release

Sydney, 3 July 2013: Global content management and distribution company, Dubsat today announced that it has released its simplified, user-based ‘self serve’ HD TVC delivery service for advertising agencies and production companies.

Now an advertiser wanting to deliver a TVC to both HD and SD TV channels only has to upload an HD version using Dubsat’s multi-OS desktop application MediaPro Extreme HD and Dubsat will automatically downconvert the file to SD when required – a unique feature in the market and one that immediately increases advertisers’ workflow efficiency and convenience.

Dubsat launches its HD workflow delivering to more Australian and New Zealand HD destinations than any other service including 7Mate, 9GEM, One Metro (Ch10), World Movies (SBS), FX, National Geographic Channels, TVNZ and TV3.

Dubsat CEO Grant Schuetrumpf said, “Dubsat has developed its simplified HD and SD workflow to efficiently deliver TVCs to broadcasters, IPTV, Internet and out of home destinations. By closely collaborating with our clients and broadcasters the common request was that they all wanted us to simplify the SD and HD TVC delivery process for them as much as possible. Understandably they also wanted us to take care of the HD downconversion to SD so they don’t have to produce multiple masters of the same TVC and deliver them separately as this increases efficiencies in their production process.”

With the market’s requirements clearly in mind Dubsat upgraded its entire system including its multi-OS desktop application MediaPro Extreme HD that manages the ingest, quality control and audio loudness of both SD and HD TVCs to meet every delivery destination’s specification.

Dubsat CTO Adam Larter added, “Along with the unique features of MediaPro Extreme HD we have added several new functions including identical end-user management of SD or HD TVCs. MediaPro Extreme HD also accepts a wide variety of client-preferred HD formats including ProRes LT and HQ, MXF and MPG2 and provides state-of-the-art transcoding services. Thus the user experience is simple and intuitive and of the highest quality.”

In essence Dubsat's new HD workflow now provides advertisers with significant benefits in terms of cost, quality, file formats, speed, efficiency and features whether they need to contribute material as HD but convert on ingest to SD or deliver HD all the way from upload to on-air broadcast.

Grant Schuetrumpf concluded, “Since Dubsat treats HD and SD the same way, HD is now fully integrated into all our products, including MediaPro Extreme HD, MediaFront and mydubsat (Dubsat Online). This makes it simple for our customers to immediately take advantage of the new HD services without any special training and enjoy full, managed delivery of their TVCs to all of Dubsat’s broadcast and non-broadcast destinations.”
