Fox Studios’ purchase of Panalux paying dividends

Press release from Well Above

According to Nancy Romano, CEO of Australia’s largest film studio Fox Studios Australia, their recent decision to purchase Panalux’s entire Australian lighting equipment inventory has already started to pay dividends.

Romano said, “We purchased a significant amount of lighting equipment and I’m pleased to say that, not only is all the kit now in place at Fox Studios Australia and at Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast, but a large volume of it has already been hired for use on productions in Australia and New Zealand.”

Fox Lighting sees Fox Studios Australia now become Australia’s only complete ‘one stop shop’ film studio, closely resembling Fox’s US studio model and moving away from the ‘dry hire’ model.

Nancy Romano added, “Our main goal when purchasing the lighting equipment was to stop it going offshore, creating another obstacle for productions trying to be made in Australia and New Zealand. By keeping the lighting equipment in Australia it helps productions save shipping and additional rental time costs and gives them local flexibility and convenience. Just in the last few weeks alone some of our clients have included major film and television productions, commercial networks, TVC production companies and local filmmakers. I’m delighted with how Fox Lighting has begun to take shape in what is proving to be a win win situation for the industry.”
