Fujifilm celebrates 15 years with stock reseller Awesome Support

Press Release from Well Above

2011 sees Fujifilm Australia proudly celebrating 15 years of dealing with their exclusive motion picture film stock reseller Awesome Support.

In February 1996 Ali Peck and Geoff Hannigan set up Film Support, an arm of Awesome Support, to sell and support Fujifilm motion picture film stocks to DOPs and cinematographers across Australia and New Zealand.

Having serviced the Australian film, video and audio industry for over 15 years Peck believes it’s Awesome Support’s customer service and close relationship with Fujifilm which makes all the difference adding,

“I’ve been to the Fujifilm factory in Japan for training which is very useful when dealing with cinematographers and making sure we always supply them with the best stock for any job.

We also have first-hand and comprehensive knowledge of production and the pressures that come with it.

This is why we set up our unprecedented 24-hour service and ‘no limit’ sale and returns policies which have helped enormously with last minute calls for film and made the most of tight budgets.

We’ve even flown to New Zealand to deliver just one can of ‘emergency’ film and often are up early on weekends to bring stock to shoots that urgently need it. It’s all part of the service.

The Fujifilm team also always go the extra distance to help DOPs and Cinematographers wherever possible and this is particularly visible in their constant support of the ACS and the rebate scheme that has helped the ACS buy their very first clubhouse and will continue to support it.”

According to Peck she is looking forward to a new era in the Australian film industry concluding, “We are all aware of changes in the industry but with Fuji recently launching the new ETERNA VIVID 250D daylight-type E.I. 250 motion picture colour negative film, which takes the Fuji range to nine different film stocks and the fact that they are still spending millions of dollars on R&D each year, film will definitely be around for some time to come helping create the best quality images you’ll see on the big screen.”

Fujifilm Australia General Manager Recording Media / Motion Picture Film Marc Van Agten said, “I am delighted to be celebrating our 15 year anniversary with Awesome Support. They are an invaluable part of Fujifilm’s business in Australia and New Zealand and a great asset to the film industry.

We are also particularly pleased to have been able to play a small part in helping the ACS buy their clubhouse and are all very much looking forward to the grand opening on Thursday 3 March 2011.”
