Job: Metro Screen Facilities Co-ordinator

Metro Screen is looking for a highly motivated person to join its Facilities team.

Metro Screen is a production and training facility catering to emerging film, video and multimedia practitioners. Metro Screen services include a professional facilities hire department that services the needs of a diverse range of video and multimedia practitioners.

Our resources include a green screen multi-cam professional studio, online and offline editing suites, media lab and a comprehensive range of cameras, lights and sound equipment.

Applicants for this position will have demonstrated skills in digital media and video production, with advanced skills in a specialist area such as camera, sound, editing, etc. Knowledge of and experience in compression based digital media, advanced computer skills and knowledge of media file organisation and storage is essential.

The position involves working in a demanding shop front environment. Applicants must be able to work unsupervised and be excellent problem solvers, but also work as part of a team to support the technical and logistical operations of the organisation. Customer service is a key element of the position.

Applicants must be capable of supervising time critical projects and responding to a variety of client requests. Applicants must be confident and effective communicators when liaising with and advising clients, students and tutors.

The salary is $37,867 for a 9 day fortnight (71 hours at $40,000 pro rata) plus superannuation and leave loading. Metro Screen is located in the Paddington Town Hall. Applicants should provide a cover letter, resume and address the selection criteria.

Essential Criteria

· Advanced skills in digital media, video production and post-production.
· Advanced computer skills (mac based platform) and familiarity with file compression protocols across a range of digital deliverables.
· Experience in a technical support role preferably in training or educational environment
· Experience in administration: dealing with specialised suppliers, stock control and cash handling
· Ability to use initiative, problem solve, identify critical issues and work well under pressure.
· Enthusiastic, flexible and reliable team player.
