Locations Database Giving NSW the Edge in International Film Production

PRESS RELEASE

NSW has been given a fresh, competitve edge as a preferred destination for Australian and international film and television productions with the launch of Screen NSW's online Locations Database.

Screen NSW's Locations Database is the first outside of the United States to be linked to the industry standard, Reel-Scout, a powerful online tool for finding and promoting film locations. It will sit alongside more than forty US states that use this service, placing NSW at the forefront of international production destinations.

NSW has much to offer as a production destination given it is home to an incredible range and diversity of potential filming locations – from metropolitan streetscapes and industrial sites to idyllic coastal, farmland and outback settings.

Screen NSW's Locations Database provides a treasure trove of more than 40,000 location images that can be easily viewed at the click of a button by producers, location managers and location scouts.

Filmmakers from around the world will be able to use Screen NSW's Loactions Database to package together images for location pitches 24/7, regardless of time zones.

Property owners can also upload their own images to the Locations Database which covers categories from Agriculture to Zoos and architectural styles from Art Deco to Victorian.

The Database includes customised interfaces for regional film contacts across the state, providing better opportunities for the promotion of appealing production destinations across regional NSW.
