NBC acquires Sydney Sailboat

Essential Media and Entertainment has struck a US broadcast deal for its hit pre-school animation series Bubble Bath Bay.

The deal, brokered by distributor Bejuba! Entertainment, will see the series shown in the US under the title, Sydney Sailboat on NBC Kids Sprout!

The animated CGI series premiered on ABC KIDS earlier in the year.

It was produced by Essential Media and Entertainment in association with Shambles Communications, Ideate Media, Telegael Teoranta and Lemon Sky.

The series was commissioned by ABC KIDS.

Executive producers for Essential Media and Entertainment are Carmel Travers, and Chris Hilton, for Ideate Media, Zainir Aminullah, and for Telegael Ireland Paul Cummins. The series creator is Gareth Eden-Styche.

Andrew Beacham acquired the series for NBC Kids.

Essential Media and Entertainment, head of kids and family, Carmel Travers, said NBC Sprout had always been the target North American Broadcast.

“They’re packing a punch in the North American children’s space and their content values closely reflect those of Sydney Sailboat. A perfect fit," she said.

Raydar Media represents Sydney Sailboat for all territories outside North America and France.  Raydar Media is also the global brand manager for Sydney Sailboat Licensing and Merchandise.

The series takes children into the fun-filled lives of eager young Sydney Sailboat and his close band of nautical friends as they explore the adventurous worlds of Bubble Bath Bay.

With a broad appeal to both young and older pre-schoolers alike, the series launched its first 26 episodes in March 2015 and a second 26-episode season in June.
