[Wed 01/07/2009 12:19:21]

Press release from Red PR

Pursuing a career in film and television has always been a tough road, and getting that one important break can be even tougher – but a new video sharing website that offers cash prizes for creative clips is set to make travel along that road a lot more scenic!

Film makers, directors and actors from across the globe could smash down industry doors thanks to the launch of Doc Sniper, a cutting-edge and innovative site that helps production enthusiasts get noticed.

Founded by Australian film and television veteran David Simpson, the concept was born from several years of research and development, is backed by an experienced team of entertainment professionals and aims to offer ordinary people an extraordinary opportunity for widespread exposure.

In a world-first, video production enthusiasts can join the Doc Sniper community for an low monthly subscription fee of $20 this enables the subscriber to have UNLIMITED entries into competitions and submit their own creative footage for the chance to win monthly cash prizes, rate their favourite videos and use interactive education tools to perfect their craft. Single ‘shot-passes’ are also available for casual users of the site, or those keen to sample the Doc Sniper experience.

“Doc Sniper is a unique forum for creative and original film and television enthusiasts to exhibit content that is captivating, interesting and clever,” said Mr Simpson.

“Telling a story, communicating with an audience and encapsulating a set of characters and plots into a video is challenging, but I believe anyone with a video camera has the potential to create something special.

“Doc Sniper will also offer subscribers a range of interactive tools to perfect their skill; whether they are interested in producing a 30 second clip, a seven minute short or a feature film. Doc Sniper will also offer a comprehensive education section for subscribers to access relevant industry information to aid their journey to become excellent filmmakers.”

Doc Sniper also has plans to launch an annual Reel Awards, a global online-only film festival to recognise the creative excellence of its members.

Australian actor Palmer Marchese, the former host of Network Ten’s Toasted TV series, has been named as the face of the website and will play the Doc Sniper character.

Doc Sniper launches today and is offering free membership for the first month – visit www.docsniper.com.au for more information.
