Quickflix partners with Virgin Mobile

[Wed 01/07/2009 12:14:10]

Press release from Quickflix

Quickflix Limited (ASX:QFX), Australia’s leading independent online DVD rental company has joined forces with Virgin Mobile in a new push to encourage more Australians to try online DVD rental as an alternative to the traditional video store.

In an exclusive promotion with Virgin Mobile for the month of July 2009, all new Virgin Mobile post-paid customers will receive a complimentary three month membership to Quickflix, valued at $44.85 (incl. GST).

Quickflix director of marketing Ben Hammond said that he was excited to be partnering with one of Australia’s most innovative telecommunications brands.

“Virgin Mobile is a great brand and we think a perfect fit for our co-promotional activities. This promotion will be an opportunity to introduce the concept of online DVD rental to a new segment of Australian customers who are technology savvy, content driven and excited about trying new things” he said.

Virgin Mobile head of acquisition Chris Jones said: “Virgin Mobile is all about offering great value to our customers. This partnership with Quickflix will give our new customers an opportunity to try online DVD rental for themselves – we know our customers love entertainment and movies in particular so we wanted to partner with a brand that is all about that experience”.

Quickflix has seen strong growth in the midst of the global financial crisis as more Australian consumers look to the convenience of online DVD rental for entertainment from the comfort of their own home.

The campaign will be promoted heavily through online channels as well as through point of sale executions in store in Virgin Mobile retail outlets and through their network of retail partners.
