Nine Network Australia’s No. 1 Demographic Network in 2013

The Nine Network ends the first half of 2013 as the No. 1 demographic network with a strong line up of programs still to come in the second half of the year.

Andrew Backwell, Director of Programming and Production with the Nine Network said: “The Nine Network’s performance in the first half of this year has been extremely satisfying to all of us. We are in a position of growth across the board and now look to consolidate with our much anticipated second half programs including Australia’s Got Talent, Big Brother and Power Games.”

2013 HIGHLIGHTS:

  • With a 32.8% share, Nine is the No. 1 network with People 25 – 54 – UP 6.5% YEAR-ON-YEAR
  • With a 34.2% share, Nine is the No. 1 network with People 16 – 39 – UP 8.6% YEAR-ON-YEAR
  • With a 33.3% share, Nine is the No. 1 network with People 18 – 49 – UP 6.4% YEAR-ON-YEAR
  • The Nine Network enjoys a 29.5% share with Total People – UP 5.4% YEAR-ON-YEAR
  • With a 35.6% share of the free-to-air audience, last week (Week 29) was the largest share Nine has ever recorded (excluding the 2006 Commonwealth Games and the 2012 Olympic Games)
  • Game 3 of the 2013 State of Origin series was the most watched game in Origin history, with a 5 City
  • Metro average audience of 2.699 million, rising to 4.232 million viewers nationally
  • The 2013 Ashes series on GEM holds the record for the most-watched multichannel program ever and eight of the Top 10 multichannel programs ever
  • The Block Sky High is Australia’s No. 1 home renovation show, with an average audience of 1.3 million 5 City Metro viewers each weeknight, rising to more than 1.7 million on Sundays
  • Season Two of The Voice was a blockbuster for Nine, with the grand finale achieving a peak audience of 3.519 million national viewers
  • Nine News and A Current Affair have already claimed the ratings year in Sydney and Melbourne, and are leading the year-to-date in Brisbane and across the 5 City Metro
