Palace Cinemas will open a new cinema, Palace Central, in Sydney's Central Park Mall, Chippendale.
Palace will open their new 14 screen complex on Level 3 of the centre in late 2017. The cinema will also uphold the building’s ‘green’ ethos, utilising technology which will use recycled water to heat and cool the auditoria, Palace said in a statement.
With a new cinema recently confirmed for Double Bay, Palace Central will be the company’s fifth location in Sydney.
The move is in line with two other redevelopments in New South Wales: for Palace Verona and Palace Byron Bay. For Verona, all existing seats will be replaced by December 2016, while Verona will also get an additional cinema by Easter 2017, with plans to add more bringing the total to eight by December 2017. Palace Byron Bay will reopen in 2018 as a nine-screen complex.
