PURRYBURRY PRODUCTIONS REWRITES HISTORY FOR SHORT FILM CHASED

In January 2015, Purryburry Productions will begin collaborating with industry veterans to produce the thriller short film CHASED on the Gold Coast and in North West New South Wales.

Writer/Director Ryan Unicomb is following up his subversive superhero short film GIFTED (starring David Breen, Rachel Gobel and Cameron Robbie) with a thrilling take on an alternate Australia had our history as a convict nation panned out a tad differently.

“Set against the harsh dystopian outback of New Holland, a gaol country housing all of the world’s criminals as they work off their crimes against the Global United Government; CHASED follows the thrilling story of four second generation convicts and their desperate attempt to escape a life of unwarranted slavery and imprisonment.”

The script has attracted the attention of Steven Caldwell of Caldwell Entertainment (BAD BEHAVIOUR starring John Jarratt) who will co-produce the short alongside Purryburry Productions’ Aaron Cater and Dr Raj Patankar of RishiRaj Films (who will also partially bankroll the short).

CHASED is still in the midst of putting together its team following the announcement of the castings of singer/songwriter Millie Tizzard (The Inbetweeners 2) and upcoming Queenslander Charlotte Hoffman (Pavlomance, The Hunter’s Club) in unspecified roles. The production is also courting numerous overseas talents to fill further major roles.

The short will shoot utilizing facilities at Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast for a week before moving production out onto location in rural Come-By-Chance, New South Wales for a further 5 days.

GIFTED is currently in post-production but will hit festival rounds later this year.
