Queer Screen raises funds for GLBT filmmakers

Press release from Queer Screen

An enormous thank you to everyone who has recently donated to Queer Screen, we are on our way to reaching our target for public donations this year.

This year we are raising money to establish an exciting industry-based mentorship program for GLBT filmmakers. This will provide crucial support for new film projects. Our goal is to ensure local queer talent is supported, and given the opportunity to share their stories with the world.

We are aiming to raise $15,000
by June 30th 2009.
We need your help.

Donations over $2 are tax deductible

In 2009/10 we will host the Mardi Gras Film Festival, our My Queer Career Competition, queerDOC, a regional touring program, and several other one-off film related events.

Only 10% of the money needed for our annual program comes from government support. We rely on ticket sales, membership fees, and donations to cover our annual costs – none of which is guaranteed.

As well as helping filmmakers, your donation will also help us to host our world famous Mardi Gras Film Festival, and our film events throughout the year.

Queer Screen is a registered charity, and donations are fully tax deductible. Every donation helps, and any amount you can afford will make a difference.

Thank you for your support. We commit to you that all money raised will be spent wisely.
