Rebel Wilson, Troye Sivan win at Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards

Alongside the likes of Adam Sandler, Jennifer Lawrence, Justin Bieber, Sofia Vergara, Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler, Rebel Wilson was a winner at Nickelodeon’s 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards in LA today.

Wilson was awarded the Australian 'Honorary Big Kid' award, which celebrates role models who encourage kids to be themselves and to be proud of their individuality.

“Kids in Australia and New Zealand, I love you, and as your honorary big kid and now rebel commander, I command you guys to get out there, get crazy messy and have the most wild fun you can,” she said.

Attendees included Robert Downey Jr., Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Evans, Meghan Trainor, Fifth Harmony and Heidi Klum.

Kids and families cast votes in 22 global categories plus five Aussie/Kiwi categories. 

In the latter categories, 5 Seconds of Summer were voted favourite pop sensation, Kayla Cullen from NZ was voted favourite sports star, the Australian Diamonds were voted favourite sports team, Scott Cam was awarded Favourite Old Fart (anybody over 25 is eligible) while Troye Sivan was named favourite social media star.

The awards will screen locally at 6pm (AEDT) tonight, March 14, on Nickelodeon.
